El-Maadi Sporting & Yachting Club Magazine published in March 2010 an interview with Sherif El-Ghamrawy discussing his dream project Basata. The article starts by how El-Ghamrawy left Cairo, particularly El-Maadi town that he and his family have been old dwellers of, to the wide desert in South Sinai, where he started his project!
The Guardian Travel in January 2010 (16/01/10) with Basata on its front page recommends the place to travelers “Hut stuff: Why this Egyptian beach camp is the perfect antidote to the January blues”. Then a full description article of the place with guidance to both Basata and Al Karm Eco-lodges follows.
Ta’em El Byout, associated with, El Masry El Youm independent daily newspaper, on November 2009 9 (13/11/09), published an interview with Sherif El-Ghamrawy discussing his dream – “Basata”. The interview goes back to how El-Ghamrawy started Basta, and how he chose its location. It then goes to how he started Basata School, and how he would generally face challenges to achieve his dream project.
Al Ahram daily newspaper published an article in February 2009 (17/02/09) entitled “Overcoming Sadness by becoming a Social Entrepreneur”. It presents Sherif El-Ghamrawy as a successful example of social entrepreneurship. It talks about both Basata project with its concept of Eco-tourism, along with Hemaya Association for Community Development, with special focus on the Waste-solid Management. The two projects managed to offer job opportunities to many youth.

Heliopolis Magazine in November 1999 published an article describing Basata Camp under the title “Basata; A Simple Vacation Style” written by Gaber Khalil. The article presents Basata’s main idea and key concept. It describes the place and how it functions. It also pinpoints Basata’s concern towards eco-tourism and environmental protection!
